Procida Island 2022. Photos and video gallery.

“Congratulations to Procida who will accompany us in the year of the restart and rebirth”. With these words, the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, announced the new capital of Italian culture, Procida island 2022.

The digital image bank MyVideoimage.com has dedicated the home page of its portal to Procida with a panoramic photo of the seaside village of Corricella. In this town, characterized by colorful houses, Massimo Troisi and Michael Radford shot some parts of the film “Il Postino”.

MyVideoimage.com is an Italian portal created to document, archive and make photos and videos of Italy’s environmental and architectural heritage available to the whole world.

MyVideoimage in July 2019 organized a documentation campaign of the islands of Procida and Ischia. The photographic and video shootings, which lasted five days, were carried out walking along the steep streets and paths of the two islands in search of hidden views.

A selection of photos and videos are visible and downloadable for educational, editorial and advertising purposes. Today everyone can use the images that represent the landscape dimension of the island:

• the houses painted with pastel colors in the village of Corricella;
• boats and fishermen’s nets;
• the characteristic shops with creative signs;
• the courtyards with Mediterranean vegetation.

What distinguishes the contents of the digital images of MyVideoimage.com is the absence of retouching or color manipulation. In this way the resources realistically document the state of the places. Small color retouching of photos and videos, necessary for use in publishing or advertising, can be made by end users to adapt them to their creative project.
