The castle of Lerici is a reference point for the many tourists who visit the nearby Cinque Terre. The castle of Lerici is located on the southern promontory of the bay of Lerici. The castle was built by the Pisans around the years 1241-1254. The castle then became in 1256 possession of the Genoese after the defeat of the Pisans.
