Cinque Terre is the name attributed to the set of five villages in Liguria. Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso are the main villages. These countries are located between narrow valleys at the sea. The typical architecture and urban development have made the places famous all over the world. In the past, the economy was based exclusively on fishing (Monterosso anchovies are famous) and on the cultivation of vines. Today the economy of the Cinque Terre is based on tourism-related activities and partly on the production of Schiacchetrà white wine.
