The land is terraced and cultivated with vine plants. Sciacchetrà wine is produced in Liguria. It seems that the name derives from the dialect term "sciacca" which means to crush grapes. It seems that this wine was also appreciated by the famous Macchiaiolo painter Telemaco Signorini.
